November

Good day blog world people!
Today is the last day of November so I thought I'd take a moment to talk about what I love about this month.
November is pretty much all about flowers for me.
Specifically peonies, agapanthus, jacarandas and roses.
I spoiled myself with 2 bunches of peonies this month, one pink and one white and have taken some very lovely photo's of them to use for painting. I'm working on one right now so stay tuned!
November is also the month that I exhibit at Stirling fine arts.
Unfortunately I didn't sell anything this year but as it turns out I'm kinda happy about it.
Well, about one piece in particular. After I had submitted my artworks I came to realize that I didn't want to sell 'Seen not Heard'. As in, I really, really didn't want to sell it!
So I was so pleased to be bringing it back home with me and with me it shall stay.

I'm pretty happy with her hanging on my wall :)

I now have limited run prints available on very high quality A3 artists paper for $29.
If you are interested in purchasing one just leave me a comment below and we can go from there.

Here's my lounge room this month. Nothing new to show I'm afraid. Just changed things around a bit.

Our Agapanthus are bringing me such joy! They are so big and strong and I can see them from the kitchen window. I've always dreamed of having a nice garden view from the kitchen window and while our very ugly pergola hampers this somewhat, its been such a treat to have the Agapanthus to look at this year.

Hope your November brought you some nice moments too.

Summer is 11 days away!

November is often a scorcher in Adelaide but so far its been pretty mild with the occasional 37 degree day thrown in. Just in case we start to get used to the abnormal consistency.

So I'm starting to think about what I'm going to be dressing myself in.
Usually its pretty dresses and skirts, partly because they're easy and I own lots of them and partly because I look frightening in shorts!
But this year I'm really digging the whole nautical look as well as hoping I can find a flattering pair of bathers  1940s style.

Here are some images that are inspiring me, I wasn't able to link with these ones so if one belongs to you just let me know and I will link/remove :)

Little Laughing Man

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo (okay, 3 photos) - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Plush Playtime

Skimming through my Etsy Favourites, I realised, I need a Cushion. Or a few of them. Or perhaps I should just update all my cushions and buy all new ones. They are sooooo cool! Check them out:

These are so different - how good would one of those look on the armchair?!

These guys have lot's of cute things!

I'm LOVING maps - especially antique ones. I don't really care what country, although Antarctica is interesting me a lot lately. I read an article a woman wrote about it in the latest Frankie Magazine. Also been watching the documentary "Human Planet"and it's stories about life in lands of Ice are incredible! I'm hope to add a cushion (or perhaps a real vintage map) to my decor soon.

These guys have some really different stuff if you want subtle 'wow''pieces.
Lot's of cute animal things here. This is related to my recent obsession with narwhals...

Sigh. I am in love.

Stay Inspired!

Dear Ol' Blinky Bill

A Childhood favourite - "Blinky Bill"     We found this when Z & E where up in Sydney for a visit, at an Op Shop. Another one for Max when he grows up a bit.
I love the old aussie animal drawings...

the way the pictures are nestled into the story..

Most of all this fox has my name! Considering my semi-obsession with foxes that's pretty cool!

An afternoon at Market

Hello all! Thought I'd share a few snaps of our afternoon today.
We dropped in to the Central Market in Adelaide to grab some veggies for the week.

Its such a great place to go, I love the atmosphere.
Next time I visit I will hopefully have more time and will
do a proper post to show you more of what its like.

Around the corner is Wilson's organics which is my favorite place to buy organic goodies.
I'm doing a detox at the moment so lots of carrots and celery came home for juicing

As well as the fattest, juiciest asparagus I have ever seen! I never tire of asparagus.
They inspire gentle thoughts.

Last stop was our favorite organic cafe in Magill. They stock the best seasonal coffee which we buy to do feed our caffe` addiction while at home.

Op shop dress and belt.
I kinda feel like a try-hard safari tourist when I wear this dress but still like it.
Its so light and I love the way the fabric gathers at the front.

Vintage glasses were a $10 find at a vintage store on Hindley street.
I like them enough to save up and get them made into prescription sunnies.
This way I will be able to wear them and see at the same time.
Won't that be nice?!

Lunch was felafels with Salad and hummus along with a game of Chinese checkers.

And now I can smell coffee wafting from the kitchen which means there is a soy latte with my name on it :)

Hope your Saturday was wonderful

Mother's Treasures Part 1

My parents house is a treasure trove of beautiful things tucked here and there among everyday living. I love their wedding photos, the colours, outfits and bouquet.

I love the old bedroom door in the background. It's supposed to of been painted 20 years ago but I'm now really liking the old pealing paint!
AH! So mum is where I got my obsession with teacups!

Beautiful Things!
